Home Free Cookies - Treats for Kids with Food Allergies

For kids with food allergies, it can be really rough if other kids are enjoying baked treats and they have to pass them up because of their allergies. Home Free has come to the rescue by providing yummy sweet treats that are Peanut free, Tree nut free, Egg free and Dairy free.

Home Free Products are carefully made in a dedicated kitchen. A lot of extra care is taken to make sure the products remain safe. The appliances and other materials in the kitchen are new, ensuring that there was no prior usage with food allergens. The delivery area is separate from the kitchen, allowing all ingredient deliveries to be wiped down. None of their products contain ingredients made from peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat, or dairy. (Please note, however, that due to current agricultural practices in this country, oats often contain traces of wheat.) There is no soy in Home Free products or facility except for soy lecithin, which is tolerated by most (but not all) people with soy allergies. No peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, wheat or dairy are permitted in the facility for any reason at any time.

Not only that, Home Free cookies are certified as more than 70% organic, and the coffee cakes are USDA organic certified as more than 95% organic.

Home Free makes both cookies and coffee cakes. The cookies are available in 6 different flavors. Home Free sent me the Mini Chocolate Chip and the Oatmeal to sample. I have to admit that it took me at least a week until I tried the cookies. I was thinking "These are egg and dairy-free, not to mention nut-free, I don't really want to eat these." Imagine my surprise when I opened the Mini Chocolate Chip and ate one and immediately said "Yum!" I then proceeded to eat half the box. I managed to save a few for my nephew, who doesn't have allergies, but DOES love these cookies. If I had let him, he would have finished the other half of the box.

I tried the Oatmeal the next day and they are also very good with a soft, slightly chewy texture. A big plus is that they are sealed into packages of two inside the box, so they stay soft and fresh. They are made with oat flour, fruit juice and apple sauce - so they are really quite wholesome!

Besides their pre-made treats, Home Free also offers a cookbook that makes it easy for the experienced or beginning baker to make over 100 treats with no peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, or dairy. They also sell allergen-tested baking ingredients to make it easy to prepare the delicious treats in the HomeFree Allergen Free Baking Cookbook. These ingredients help baked goods have great texture, even when egg-free, nut-free, wheat-free, and dairy-free.
