Clean Your Microwave with NO Chemicals - Use Lemon!

It's always a good idea to avoid chemicals as much as possible in the home. When it comes to your microwave, it's even more important to steer clear of them because your food comes in such close contact with the unit and the fan inside circulates the air. If you spray chemical cleaners into the microwave they will get circulated around and around your food!

To clean your microwave the "all natural" way, all you need is lemons or lemon juice and water. Here's how:

Fill a bowl with two cups of water. Add either a sliced lemon or 2 Tbsp of lemon juice. Set the bowl in the microwave and cook on high for 3-4 minutes - long enough that the water comes to a boil and remains boiling for about a minute. Then turn off the microwave, but keep the door closed for 10 minutes to let that lemony steam work its magic. After the time is up, open the door and wipe down the inside of the microwave with a damp cloth.

Not only will your microwave be clean, but your kitchen will smell lemony fresh!
