How to Peel a Banana with NO Yucky Strings

I know of people who don't even like to eat bananas because of the little slimy strings that you find when peeled.  Well, I'm not that fanatical about it, but I prefer my bananas nice and neat with no loose strings.  To easily do this, simply cut of the BOTTOM  tip of the banana and then pull the peel up.  THAT'S IT!  No strings and a nice healthy snack for you.  (Please disregard the less than beautiful banana in my photo...it was the last of the bunch!)

  1. That made me laugh ... I'll never forget the time I saw Sonny Boy peel it from the bottom, I just looked at him funny, and that's when he told me the same thing about the strings! Not sure if it's true (or proven) but apparently, that's how monkeys in the wild do it! (came by way of WFMW)

  2. My favorite bananas are the ones that look like that! They're nice and sweet. :)

Thanks for the tip! I came over from WFMW.

  3. Every time I've heard of peeling from the bottom up, they always said to pinch the bottom...which I tried and which resulted in a squished banana! I had never thought to cut off the bottom. Oh the simple things in life that never occur to me :)
