Easy, Tasty & Healthier Oven-Baked French Fries

I love french fries...who doesn't? But fries from the fast food place or from a frozen bag don't really fit into a healthy diet. This easy recipe is a healthier alternative. It's also a very CHEAP food!

Ingredients:
4 medium potatoes
1 Tbsp olive oil
salt to taste

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Scrub the potatoes. Leaving skin on, cut into slices appx 1/4" in height and width. For best results, then soak them in cold water for 30 minutes. (If I'm short on time, I will just soak them in water for a minute or two. This step removes excess starch and makes for a crispier fry.) Drain water and wrap potatoes in a clean dish towel to remove excess water (alternatively, you can spin them in a salad spinner).

Place the potatoes on a baking sheet - the heavier the better. Pour oil over potatoes and sprinkle with salt. Mix with hands to evenly distribute the oil. Bake 15-20 minutes or until fries are golden brown, flipping them at least once during the process.

Try them, you'll like them! The process description might sound long and complicated but once you make them once or twice, it goes very quickly and the results are well worth the effort.

  1. My ex-boyfriend used to make us potatoes for breakfast like this and he used a bit of the Tony Chachere's seasoning on top,, it gave it some spice and kick but not too much!

Worth a try (comes in a green container in the spice aisle, pronounced Tony Sat-chu-eee), and apparently is huge in NOLA:)_
